Manuscript Submission Guidelines for Contracted Georgetown Digital Shorts

Manuscript Submission Guidelines for Contracted Georgetown Digital Shorts

Georgetown Digital Shorts follows the same style guidelines as those for book-length manuscripts when it comes to the main body of the text and all notes. Please note the additional style guidelines.
  • Abstract: Authors must supply a 150- to 250-word abstract with the completed manuscript.
  • Art: The digital short format does not lend itself well to the presentation of tables or figures, so these should be included in limited quantity and only when they are critical to the content of the work.
  • Proofreading: Authors will be given the opportunity to review proofs. Once the author receives the proofs, they must be reviewed and returned within two business days with comments. If this deadline is not met, the press will assume author approval and will proceed with the production process.
  • Permissions: Authors must supply all permission agreements needed for third-party materials with submission of the final manuscript. Production will not begin until all necessary agreements are received by the press.
  • Bibliography: Digital shorts will not include bibliographies or reference lists.
  • Index: Because they are brief and easily searchable electronically, digital shorts will not include indexes.
